The Bourgogne Franche-Comté region is home to industries specialising in microtechnology using cutting processes. In order to improve the life of cutting tools and the quality of cuts, 3D surface microtexturing is an ambitious alternative to reduce friction by promoting lubricant retention at the scale of the micro-cavities created.
The ELTESS project proposes to develop an electrochemical surface texturing process based on anodic dissolution, drawing on the partners’ expertise in electrochemical processes and microsystems. The process will not only allow the texturing of complex shapes or even concave surfaces, but also the modification of the mechanical and chemical properties of the treated surfaces. Moreover, it will be easily transposable to large surfaces.

This project is held by FEMTO-ST, ICB and UTINAM and is supported by the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region and the National Research Agency (ANR):

The PH.D position is now closed for this project.
