The Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) process is particularly suitable for the manufacture of large metal parts. In particular, it does not require a neutral gas enclosure and can achieve much higher deposition rates (2 kg/h) than powder bed melting (PBM).
The main idea of our project entitled COBAFIL is to develop a vision-based system that allows the control of the arc-wire additive manufacturing process, so as to best respect the shape of the part to be manufactured.
This project is held by ICB and ImViA and is supported by the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region and the National Research Agency (ANR):
One Post-Doctorate position will be opened for this project in september 2022.
